Colour Work Night

by @greensnightout on September 15th, 2017

Monday night is the first workshop of the term and we’re investigating knitted colourwork.

You’ll need a supply of wooley wool (the scratchier it is the easier the knitting – think Granny’s best Shetland pullover) and some suitable sized needles (around 3mm). There will be some stash yarn on hand for you to dip into (mainly 4ply) and some spare needles too. We’ll have plenty of inspiration plus paper and coloured pencils should you choose to create your own design. We’re no experts ourselves but, we’re happy to share what we know and hope to discover more along the way.

By the end of the evening we’re aiming to have a fancy swatch of knitted loveliness ready to turn into little brooches or colourful patches.

If you fancy a go at colour work, want to share your skills or feel like showing off your best colourful projects, please join us – we’d love to see you.

Granny Greens Big Night Out meet every Monday, 6pm ’till late, at Akva Bar, Edinburgh.
