‘Knit a Square’ Night – 12th October
Monday the 12th is ‘Knit a square’ night! Supporting our very own Marvellous Mary and the fantastic work of KasCare (http://www.knit-a-square.com) we’ll be knitting and crocheting blanket squares to send to AIDS orphans in South Africa.
This is a cause Granny Greens has supported on many occasions in the past. We even roped in Grey Friars Bobby! (http://www.theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2014/02/granny-greens-knitting-for-africa/)
Don’t worry if you’ve never made a square in the past. There will be plenty of friendly faces on hand to give advice. Any colour of wool/yarn is fine, but we aren’t encouraging pale colours, as the blankets will rarely, if ever, be washed. Spare hooks, needles and yarn will be available on the night.
Join us at our usual haunt Bert’s Bar, for some crafting for a great cause xx
