by Sarah on February 15th, 2011

This Monday (21st February)  learn how to make a hand bound books with Lucy Roscoe and Granny Green’s Big Night Out.

Lucy is a supremely talented illustrator and book artist, currently based in Edinburgh, who runs the Book Tree Press “producing hand printed limited artist books and paper works for purchase and exhibitions”. With her guidance, you’ll make one book on the night but come away inspired and swimming in ideas to make your next books – and the skills to actually do it! Having been a Lucy’s pre-Christmas workshop I can confirm she can take you from zero to, “I made a book! And it looks like a book!” in one night, and is full of helpful hints and tips on making books, sourcing materials and creative follow-on ideas!

The workshop costs £15 per person, with all materials for your book provided and hands-on teaching from Lucy.* The workshop will be held at our regular venue Fredericks Coffee House (1st floor, 30 Frederick Street, Edinburgh.)

The workshop starts at 6.15pm and places are limited in order to ensure you get the best experience! To book your workshop places, email Please include your full name and phone number so we can easily get in touch if necessary, and we’ll confirm your booking by email!

For more information about Lucy, and more examples of her work, visit the Book Tree Press website.

*Note: the full cost of the workshop goes towards your materials and tuition. It does mean we’ll need to find some other way to fund the Granny Green’s  holiday home in Mauritius, though!
