Last night, we were able to announce our exciting new venue for Granny Green’s Big Night Out!

From 31st January, we will be meeting at Frederick’s, a beautiful new cafe on Frederick Street. Centrally located, it is close to most major bus routes and Waverley train station, so hopefully everyone should still be able to make it along. We will continue to meet every Monday evening from 6pm.

Whilst sampling the fine teas and coffees that Frederick’s provides, we also managed to make a plan for the groups and events that will take place as part of the Granny Green’s  spring programme:

24th January – (Final night at The LOT) – Book Group – Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder

31st January – (First night at Frederick’s) – Craft Workshop – Crochet (Bring your own hooks and wool, please!)

7th February – Photography Group – Sharing camera tips and our interpretations of  ‘My Edinburgh’

14th February – Film Group – Bladerunner

21st February – Craft Workshop – to be confirmed

28th February – Book Group – Rework by Jason Fried

7th March – Photography Group – theme tba!

14th March – Film Group – The Social Network

21st March – Craft Workshop – tba

28th March – Book Group – Toast by Nigel Slater

Of course, each week we’ll also continue to have an informal social craft drop-in where you can bring along your projects and meet other crafty types!

For those of you who haven’t been to Frederick’s yet (Fiona and I hadn’t before yesterday, it is very new!) here is a nice article on the cafe on the Edinburgh Spotlight website.

Also, if you are on Facebook you can give Frederick’s some love by liking their page, here

If you have any suggestions for workshops etc that you would like to be included in future Granny Green’s nights, please speak to Sarah, Fiona or myself, or leave a comment on this blog or our facebook page.
