Granny Green’s Big Night Out: 31st January 2011

by Sarah on January 30th, 2011

First thing to note is that this week’s Granny Green’s is the first at our new venue, Fredericks on Frederick Street. It’s easy to get to, located between Princes Street and George Street and just beautiful inside. The owner, Alana, swung us completely when she told us she had a sewing machine in the office because she made the cushions for the cafe – we did not choose the locations on cupcakes alone!

However, because of licensing restrictions, Granny Green’s will be ending slightly earlier for a while, at 8.15pm. I swear, it’s pure coincidence that you can now come along to Granny Green’s and get home just in time for Glee starting… (and if anyone fancies keeping the Granny Green spirit going after we finish, there’s no shortage of places nearby to go and hone our chatting skills!)

Crochet

This Monday night is Crochet night! Whether you’ve never picked up a crochet hook in your life or consider yourself something of a crochet superstar, come along! Help others learn to crochet, share your secrets, your problems… whether you want to crochet a granny square, a hat or a hamster, Granny Green’s Big Night Out is the place to start!

If you can, please bring along a crochet hook for yourself plus any spares you don’t mind being borrowed for the night, along with yarn if you have any. Books and patterns would be welcome too, plus feel free to bring along your favourite crocheted projects to give us all some inspiration!

All welcome

We look forward to seeing you on Monday and, as always, if you’ve never been along before, feel free to come along and say hello! We’re open to everyone: just turn up between 6 and 8.15pm!

Sarah
