Granny Green’s Big Night Out: 11th October 2010
This week at Granny Green’s sees the launch of our new film group, and we’re kicking off in robotic style with Pixar’s Wall-E (2008).
In a distant, but not so unrealistic future, where mankind has abandoned earth because it has become covered with trash from products sold by the powerful multi-national Buy N Large corporation, WALL-E, a garbage collecting robot has been left to clean up the mess. Mesmerized with trinkets of Earth’s history and show tunes, WALL-E is alone on Earth except for a sprightly pet cockroach.
Wall-E divided audience opinion, with some declaring it an artistic masterpiece and others deriding it as boring and lacking in narrative. What’s your view? Grab some time to yourself this week to take another look at the film and then come along to the film group between 6-9pm on Monday night and see what others thought.
We’ll also be running the craft group again, so bring along yourself and a project and get stuck into some crafting in company!
